After Kristy and Russ had booked with us, we began discussing ideas for their engagement session. I always love it when our clients have ideas for a certain look they'd like to achieve or for a fun and new location. Kristy told me that they really weren't "shorts people" and that they'd prefer cooler weather for the session. Well, we definitely had "cooler" weather. While shooting in our first location I felt as though my bare hands were literally submerged in snow. I need to get some fingertipless gloves!
Now, if it were me having my picture taken in this weather, I wouldn't have been able to hide the fact that I was freezing my butt off. Russ and Kristy? I don't know how they did it - besides their rosy cheeks and noses - they didn't at all look phased. Now that I think about it, the cold was actually in my favor because it made them snuggle even closer than they probably usually would have!
Stepping out of our warm car and into the bitter cold was rough. The very first thing I had them do was sprint through this open ground to warm up.
After that - they were set.
We actually got into a bit of trespassing trouble on these one's (what's new?), but Geoff sweet talked his way into allowing us to stay. And I'm SO glad we were able because I am OBSESSED with these!
A favorite.
WHOA.
We got to the "ground hog turn about" (hehe) at the perfect time - the light pouring over this field was beyond gorgeous.
I have so many favorites from this session - this is one of them. :)
As great at the session was going outside, I think we were all relieved to get into the warmth of the Davidson College library. How cute are their outfits?!
Another favorite.
And we ended things with some fun book shots.
I can't WAIT to shoot Kristy's bridal portrait - see you next weekend girl!!! :)

I LOVE these! I am an instant fan! If you ever make your way south to Charleston, hollah at your boy! :)
You are truly an artist. This blog has become my first stop each morning as I have that first cup of java. "Amazing" just does not capture your talent.
Ewwww.. These are delicious!! Way to go!
yay Kristy!!! Cheyenne, you did an amazing job for our knottie friend!! I am really blown away....
I love love this shoot! It is stuff like that that makes me wish we lived farther north... we don't have any cornfields around here! So fun. Anyways.... Aeropastle (not sure if i spelled that right) has fingerless gloves... so cute. I had to get some myself and am hoping maybe I will "have" to use them soon. Who knows when you live in FL right?!?!
What can I NOT say about these pictures so I don't take up too much room saying how great each one is? The colors, the sunlight's framing, the couple's emotions caught on paper for all time, the car in front of the greenery, the locations, the themes, on and on and on....This was "one" of your best.
AMAZING! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
giiiiiiirllll these are BEYOND amazing!!! When do I get to come play? :)
