Savannah Bound

I always really enjoy going back to visit places that were special to my life at some point. Savannah, GA is no exception.

As I've mentioned on here before, Savannah is where I spent the best summer of my life - and coincidentally, is the summer that I met Geoff. Sometimes I wish we could move to Savannah - but then I suppose the excitement of being there would fade away. Everything about it just makes me feel happy inside - the spanish moss dripping from the massive trees, gorgeous squares on what seems like every corner, pralines (and many other things) from The Savannah Candy Kitchen, world's BEST pizza at Vinnie's, performers on River Street, great shopping on Broughton...I could go on and on.

Anyway - this weekend Geoff is going to a motion graphics conference there - and I get to come with! It's going to be great - perhaps I'll bring my camera and play tourist.....we'll see.

Here's a shot of a coffee house in a small town of another special place to me - Macomb, IL (where I went to grad school). I actually grabbed this one with my old (and now retired) point and shoot that would work when it felt like it.....while holding it out of the car window. Don't judge me.

:)

Don't forget! Check the blog tomorrow - Friday - at 9am to find out the winner of the Eye Candy Photo Challenge...and trust me...you're going to want to check!

Lauren: No Holds Bridal

Lauren is a total wild child - when you're with her, you never ever ever know what she's going to do or say next. Seriously, you're always in for a good time when you are around her - she certainly keeps life interesting.

As mentioned in Maryann's post, I had been so looking forward to this shoot once they told me they were interested. I was almost as excited for this shoot as I was to shoot Lauren's wedding back in July 2007....because her wedding was THE first wedding I ever shot. If you dare, you can check it out HERE.

After our shoot I told Lauren that I thought she had some untapped gifts - modeling being one of them (singing is another one, but we won't get into that). See for yourself - she's gorgeous.

Love you girls!

Maryann: No Holds Bridal

That shot above is killing me - Maryann looks SO FREAKING HOT, right?!

"No Holds Bridal" is my version of the popular trend "Trash the Dress". Maryann and Lauren are already married, but wanted a chance to put their dresses back on for a photo shoot without worrying about getting them dirty.

When these two told me they wanted to come up to Charlotte from Anderson, SC to do a shoot, I was beyond thrilled. Since we were going to do them on the same day, I enlisted help from my good friend Candice of The Beautiful Mess.

Having done their boudoir sessions for their husbands the day before the shoot, they were ready to bring it....and they SO did. We started the day with hair and makeup by the amazingly talented (and sweet as they come) Kymm from Who's the Fairest. I actually stepped out to run a few errands while they got dolled up and when I called to check on them, Maryann says to me, "I haven't even gotten my hair and makeup done yet and I am having THE best time."

Maryann is such a country girl. So it seemed only appropriate that we spend some time shooting in some fields and around a barn. Lucky for us, I had recently been told about a cool barn-like structure really close to our other locations. I like to call it "The Urban Barn". And you wouldn't believe the light we had to work with.....every couple frames I would shout at her, "oh my GOSH...you are SO going to love these!"

Alright - enough chatter...her she is - the beautiful Maryann.

Can someone out there PLEASE book this place to have their reception and then hire me to shoot it? Thanks a bunch. :) But seriously - this place is available for rent. I think it would be a great space for country wedding in an urban part of Charlotte - with a great wedding planner, I know this place could look phenomenal. Shoot me an email if you are a bride looking for a reception site and would like the contact information for it! cheyenne@cheyenneschultz.com

Be sure to check out what Candice got HERE.

Also, check back soon for Lauren's pics.

Vote TODAY!!!

Today is the day you have all been waiting for - the winners from each category from the Eye Candy Photo Challenge are announced! Today is also the voting for these three finalists!

I truly hope all of you out there have enjoyed this contest as much as Geoff and I have. It has been a lot of fun to see all of the creative entries we received, as well as to see them get support from their nearest and dearest. Good times, indeed.

Before I reveal the top three you will be voting on, I have to extend a HUGE thank you to all 21 of the couples who participated. At minimum, I hope you had fun with your significant other through this contest. To show our appreciation, every couple will be receiving a special treat in the mail - I'll be stalking you for your addresses soon. :)

Voting is now open and will close at 11:59pm east coast time TONIGHT (Monday)! I was initially going to leave it open for two days, but in effort to not drag it out and to be consistent with the preliminaries, this way is better. :)

Remember - comments on the post to root for your favorite couple/photo are welcomed, but for the vote to count, you must cast it in the ballot.

Winner for the HEARTS:

Vernice + Matt!

Winner for the CANDY:

Sarah + Jason!

Winner for the CUPIDS:

Melissa and Caleb!

FINAL REMINDER - PLEASE...only one vote per person! If you try to vote multiple times, it will be a gigantic waste of your precious time - we'll track your IP Address and delete multiples.

Also, any foul play detected may result in a disqualification.

After you vote, come back THIS FRIDAY - February 27th at 9am east coast time for a very special presentation to find out who our winner is!
