Savannah Bound

I always really enjoy going back to visit places that were special to my life at some point. Savannah, GA is no exception.

As I've mentioned on here before, Savannah is where I spent the best summer of my life - and coincidentally, is the summer that I met Geoff. Sometimes I wish we could move to Savannah - but then I suppose the excitement of being there would fade away. Everything about it just makes me feel happy inside - the spanish moss dripping from the massive trees, gorgeous squares on what seems like every corner, pralines (and many other things) from The Savannah Candy Kitchen, world's BEST pizza at Vinnie's, performers on River Street, great shopping on Broughton...I could go on and on.

Anyway - this weekend Geoff is going to a motion graphics conference there - and I get to come with! It's going to be great - perhaps I'll bring my camera and play tourist.....we'll see.

Here's a shot of a coffee house in a small town of another special place to me - Macomb, IL (where I went to grad school). I actually grabbed this one with my old (and now retired) point and shoot that would work when it felt like it.....while holding it out of the car window. Don't judge me.

:)

Don't forget! Check the blog tomorrow - Friday - at 9am to find out the winner of the Eye Candy Photo Challenge...and trust me...you're going to want to check!

Vote TODAY!!!

Today is the day you have all been waiting for - the winners from each category from the Eye Candy Photo Challenge are announced! Today is also the voting for these three finalists!

I truly hope all of you out there have enjoyed this contest as much as Geoff and I have. It has been a lot of fun to see all of the creative entries we received, as well as to see them get support from their nearest and dearest. Good times, indeed.

Before I reveal the top three you will be voting on, I have to extend a HUGE thank you to all 21 of the couples who participated. At minimum, I hope you had fun with your significant other through this contest. To show our appreciation, every couple will be receiving a special treat in the mail - I'll be stalking you for your addresses soon. :)

Voting is now open and will close at 11:59pm east coast time TONIGHT (Monday)! I was initially going to leave it open for two days, but in effort to not drag it out and to be consistent with the preliminaries, this way is better. :)

Remember - comments on the post to root for your favorite couple/photo are welcomed, but for the vote to count, you must cast it in the ballot.

Winner for the HEARTS:

Vernice + Matt!

Winner for the CANDY:

Sarah + Jason!

Winner for the CUPIDS:

Melissa and Caleb!

FINAL REMINDER - PLEASE...only one vote per person! If you try to vote multiple times, it will be a gigantic waste of your precious time - we'll track your IP Address and delete multiples.

Also, any foul play detected may result in a disqualification.

After you vote, come back THIS FRIDAY - February 27th at 9am east coast time for a very special presentation to find out who our winner is!

THREE days left + Cookie & Coco

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

Geoff and I actually celebrated on Thursday night. I tell you what...I have THE best husband ever. He surprised me with a nice dinner and a night uptown at the Omni. You have no idea how excited I was.

Valentine's Day means only THREE days left to submit your entry for the Eye Candy Photo Challenge. Go HERE to see full contest details. I've been REALLY excited to see the ideas that people have been coming up with!

I'm typically not the biggest fan of receiving emails that have been forwarded a million times just for the sake of forwarding - you're lucky, if I take a quick glance before deleting. However, the other day I received a forward that caught my attention.

Many of you know that I am LOVE animals with all of my heart - ALMOST as much as I love Geoff...seriously. I've blogged before about how I can't stand animals being hurt. Well, as ridiculous as it may sound, I can't bear the thought of them suffering emotional hurt either. My heart just sank as I read the story below of Cookie and Coco. No doubt if I had an actual yard with a fence, I would have begged Geoff to keep them until he gave in. Since keeping them isn't an option, the least I could do to help them find a good home would be to blog. I would love to hear of a success story that allows these two best friends to be kept together.

Check out the picture and story of these two sweet girls:

"As many of you know, we are moving in just 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I have
still not been able to find a good home for Cookie and Coco .
We're not able to take our beloved doggies with us and I've been
desperately trying to find a home for both of them 'together'. They
were raised together and pine without each other. The Lab rescue have already
said that they would probably separate them, so this is my last resort.

Recently I tried to take Coco out in my car alone and she TOTALLY
refused to even get into the car without Cookie.....!!!! She absolutely
pulled back on her haunches until Cookie was by her side. Both doggies
are in great health, have been spayed and have ID chips implanted under
the skin.

Cookie turned 3 December 10th and Coco will be 3 April 1st. Cookie is
my mellow-yellow, and just loves her tummy rubbed. Coco is adorably
funny and lives for her "ball". She also loves the water..... Cookie
loves lots of attention. Both doggies are loyal and love to walk. They
have been raised with my 3 kids running around all over the place, and
have survived Sammy's constant hugging and love of 'dress-up', so
they are fantastic family dogs. This is by far one of the most difficult
decisions I have ever had to make, but under the circumstances I have no
choice.

Please, Please forward these pics to all you know and help me find a
great home for these fabulous doggies. They are just adorable and it's
heartbreaking to let them go. In a perfect world, I hope that we could
find someone local so that we can still keep in touch and visit them.
I pray that someone, somewhere can help us keep Cookie and Coco
together, and love them just as much as we do. Thank you all from the
bottom of my heart."

If you yourself can't take in these precious dogs, please pass this post along to anyone you think might be willing. Here's some other details about the two:

Two females, both have chips implanted - well cared for. Family losing home.
Desperate to find loving home.

Already housebroken, trained, love kids, spayed, up to date on
shots....what more could you ask for.
But must stay together. These are life long friends.

Eye Candy - Getting Closer....

How can you be sure if he's the one for you? When he will put on white tights and pink feathered cupid wings when you ask him to.

I guess it wasn't TOO much of a sacrifice for Geoff to go leaping through a field dressed as Cupid. I mean, the guy went to art school and used to dress up randomly on any given day - just for fun. At least THIS had a purpose. :)

We decided to put together a little shoot of our own...just for kicks....just because we felt like we were missing out on the fun for our Eye Candy Photo Challenge. Notice all three elements are used (heart, cupid, and candy...the candy is in my hand if you couldn't tell), but you only have to use one of those things for your own entry.

Many thanks to our friends Candice and Daniel from The Beautiful Mess for working their magic behind the camera for us. Don't let the fabulous photography intimidate you, though. As mentioned, a fancy camera for your own submission is not at all necessary. Just grab what you have and get out there and shoot!

To get the full down low on the photo challenge, CLICK HERE!

Check back over the next few days for a fun countdown!

Eye Candy----------> Get excited!

YES! SO FLIPPING EXCITED!

In the spirit of the fast approaching February 14th, Geoff and I wanted to share the love a bit with all of you by offering the chance to have a little fun with your boo AND win...the chance to win BIG!

Here's the scoop scoop on how to enter the photo challenge...it's easy.

1. Take out the camera (doesn't have to be a fancy camera by any means - the ol' point and shoot will do just fine) and have someone snap a picture of you and your hunny together (or just put it on the self timer). And here's the fun part - the photo MUST incorporate one of the following: a) cupid, b) a heart, or c) your favorite Valentine's Day candy. It's okay that it's cheesy - just go with it. :)

2. Get creative! Have fun! Get crazy! (but keep your clothes on - this is NOT that kind of contest :) ) Seriously, the sky is the limit. Could be a fun thing for a date night perhaps?!

3. Submit your photo for entry before the deadline of Monday, February 16th at 11:59pm - simply shoot an email to eyecandy@cheyenneschultz.com

FAQ

Tell me again - what do we win? A 1-2 hour photo session with Geoff and Cheyenne, a high res disc of the session images with a reprint release, a really cool coffee table book with your pics inside, and....a 8GB iPod touch with your images...to keep!

Can I be sneaky and enter five different pictures into the contest to increase my chances of winning? This would be a no - only one entry per couple please.

Can I enter with my friend? Sorry to all the single ladies, but this one is for the couples - dating, engaged, or married. Pass the word along to a coupled friend of yours....help them out by taking their picture....who knows? Maybe they'll give you their iPod for helping them to win?!

Will you accept late entries? Nope - 2/16/09 11:59pm is the mark. You have TEN FULL DAYS to think of something great, shoot it, and send er' on in!

How is the winner decided? Your fate will be in our blogreaders hands - they're going to vote on their favorite photo. Depending on the # of entries, we may decide to break the voting into 3 sections divided by the item in the picture (i.e. cupid, heart, candy). Then, a final vote will take place of the top three.

If I win, can the photo session be of my whole family? Since this is photo challenge for couples, the session is only good for you and your significant other. Also, the stated loot can't be traded for other products or services - it is what it is.

Can you and Geoff fly to Australia to shoot our session? As much as we'd love to include worldwide travel for the winning couple, the session must take place somewhere in the Carolina's. Out-of-towners are welcome to enter the challenge...you'll just have to come on over to NC or SC if you win. :)

I have a question that you didn't answer...can I call you? Sure, you can call, but an email might be better - eyecandy@cheyenneschultz.com
