Carolina Bride - me?

Checking out the current issue of Carolina Bride magazine is an absolute must. Not only because it's a fabulous magazine for Charlotte brides, but because Geoff and I are in it!

The "Rules of Engagement" section is a newer section that highlights unique proposals - pretty cool that we were one of the one's they picked! It comes just in time for the anniversary of when he proposed - May 27th, 2006....how weird that night was almost two years ago! On the 27th I'll blog with the whole deal and perhaps even the montage he created for me.

Props to our photographer for our hot picture! - Kristin Vining Photography - actually, she deserves a HUGE congratulations for landing the COVER of Carolina Bride this time around...go, Kristin, go! Definitely hit up her BLOG and give her some love with a comment!

Stephanie's Bridals

This past weekend Stephanie was married! Geoff and I were shooting Jesse and Brandon's wedding in Columbia, so we weren't able to see her walk down the aisle to her now husband, Matt. I did, however, get to see a few pictures of her and let me tell you - she looked GORGEOUS. And, she looked so incredibly happy - it brought a smile to my face.

Doesn't she look fabulous in these portraits? Again, props to Limerick Studios for allowing us onto their roof! Geoff and I hauled our red couch from home to the studio for a different look - I was thrilled with the outcome. Enjoy!

P.S. The visit to the dentist was NOT bad - not at all what I was expecting. I only have THREE cavities...yay! Now, I know to some that seems like a lot, but for me - who at one time had eleven....yes, ELEVEN cavities - I am excited. If anyone needs a great dentist - check out David Stroup in Charlotte. He was great!

Just a few

Photobucket

Here's a few detail shots from a wedding we shot a few weeks ago - I'm going to try my best to blog every day this week to make up for a full week of not posting last week!

Sorry there isn't much text to go along with it - I just can't believe how crazy things are at this point in my life.  I am certainly looking forward to finding some sanity in late June when I am done with my day job!

A side note - tomorrow I have a dentist appointment.  I basically despise going to the dentist because I know I will get bad news - I'm hoping that I won't have to have a route canal and/or crowns.  Wish me luck!

Jesse's Bridals

Photobucket

Yesterday Geoff and I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Jesse and Brandon - congratulations you two!  I'll give more details when I blog about the day...coming soon!

For now, here is the beautiful Jesse and her bridal portraits.  A special shout out to Mike and Sherrie at Limerick Studios for allowing me to use their space for these shots.

Bad Blogger

I've been bad this week at blogging....I confess.  :(  I can't believe how incredibly busy it's gotten lately!  Forgive me, dear blogreaders - and please do continue come back to visit.

The good news is that after 5 1/2 hours in the car by myself (which I HATE), I have made it to Jekyll Island.  I am currently resting comfortably on my bed in our cottage.  Very nice!

Tomorrow I am second shooting a wedding here with Scarlett....it should be a lot of fun.  Tonight I met the couple - Stacy and Ted - they are so nice!  I can already tell that tomorrow will be a great day.

Other news to report - this past Wednesday was my final class at the Light Factory.  I am SO glad I took this class...I really did learn a ton.  Although I gotta tell ya - I'm glad to be getting my Wednesday evenings back - I need them to edit!

Anyway, here are some shots I took during one of our classes while shooting uptown.

Yes, there was a cow in uptown Charlotte, it's true.  Really I have no idea why, but I didn't ask questions.  He was a sweet old cow.

P.S. I had to use the old blog frame on these - I think I may have deleted my action for the new one and I don't have my photoshop genius here with me.....miss you, baby! MUAH!

Maryann and Ed: Married!

Photobucket

Geoff and I had been looking forward to March 28th, 2008 for so long! We were so excited to finally be driving down to Edisto Beach, SC on Thursday night to prepare for our friend's Maryann and Ed's wedding the next day. Edisto is a very special place to Maryann and her family, as it has been their vacation spot since she was little. I had never heard of it before meeting Maryann - and to prove it - I pronounced it "Edeeesto Beach", at which she made fun of regularly for. What can I say? I grew up in California and took 6 years of Spanish through high school and college - my Spanish accent is bound to surface from time to time. :)

When we got there, Maryann's sister - April - says to me, "Well, I'm glad you two are here...you can finally start helping!" April was a crack up - her sarcastic comments throughout the time we were there had me laughing inside. Seriously, their families were just as sweet as they could be...treated Geoff and I like we were part of the family. We couldn't have been more appreciative.

The wedding day was beautiful - very simple, very relaxed. Not to anyone's surprise, Maryann looked gorgeous. And Ed - well, he was lookin' pretty dang good too. The ceremony was outside near the beach and the reception at a nearby restaurant. We are truly blessed to have had the opportunity to share in this special day of Ed and Maryann. Enjoy the images!
