Elevation Church - Uptown Christmas 2009

This is the first of a few "better late than never" posts, as I'm still playing catch up from 2009. I'm pushing through - it WILL get done. :)

First up - Elevation Church's Uptown Christmas at Belk Theater. The four services were nothing short of amazing - lasers were fired, drums came down from the ceiling, snow fell from above...and lives were changed.

If you weren't able to attend Elevation's Christmas Eve this year, you simply must get yourself to one in 2010.

Over the course of four services, there were 8,000 (!) people in attendance. It was truly an incredible sight to see when looking over the crowd.

Band Pics

Last night our photography team at Elevation Church had the opportunity to shoot some promo pics for the band worship leaders. Here's my take on the shoot. :)

Easter Sunday 2009

Easter Sunday has come and gone. And it was awesome. Here's just a few pics from the services.

Two weeks ago Geoff was sick as a dog, so I didn't make it to church. Not only did I miss the actual service, but I missed seeing my husband on video cram twenty some marshmallow Peeps into his mouth. Lucky me - the video was posted on vimeo.....for all to see. :) What a nut.

Healer - starts THIS Sunday

So yeah....I pretty much love the Easter season. I'm not going to lie - many of the reasons I love it so much and look forward this time of year revolve around food. Bad food. Sugary, chocolaty food. Non-cholesterol lowering food. Don't get me wrong - another big reason I love the season is for the fact that it's not freezing outside....I'm lovin' that sun for real. But really.....cadbury creme eggs, hershey mini-eggs, reece's eggs? It's where it's at.

Tied for first this year in my excitement for Easter is the chocolate...and my church. The rumor on the streets is that BIG things are happening at Elevation Church this weekend for Easter Sunday....and I'm super pumped that I'll be there to shoot it!

If you're looking for a church to attend on Easter, here are the service times for Elevation:

McGlohon Theature (Uptown): 10am

Providence High School: 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 1pm

Butler High School: 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 6pm

There's also a special Saturday night service at Providence High School starting at 6pm

This Sunday is the start of a new series called "Healer". You MUST check out the trailor Geoff did for it....it's one of my all-time favorite animations he has done.

And We're Back

Whoa....that was a long blogging break.

For the past week, I've been doing a whole lotta nothin'. It's been FANTASTIC! Between Geoff's work at Elevation and our work with photography, the fall was beyond busy. Having this time off where we could just do nothing together was an incredible blessing.

Since we spent last Christmas in California with my family, we had planned to head up to Chicago for this year with Geoff's parents. However, plans changed once we found out Elevation was going to put on a Christmas Eve service (actually, 3 services) and that Geoff would be working. Instead of flying out afterward, we decided that we would just stay in Charlotte and have our first Christmas with just the two of us. :)

Christmas Eve at Elevation was off the hook. It was NOT your average church service - first of all, the venue was uptown at Belk Theatre, which was amazing. By the end of the night, over 6,000 people had come through the doors - seriously, looking up at the balconies was overwhelming. Secondly, the worship was phenomenal...whenever Wade, Chris, and Mack get together on stage, things get crazy. And finally, our Pastor rocked it out with his message - but that's nothing new. :)))

I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to shoot this event alongside Sean Lyon and Katie Holcomb. To see view our full galleries, go HERE.

HEY NOW! Who's this hot guy?!

Seriously, my husband was SUCH a hottie for a version of "the little drummer boy". It was hard to focus and take pictures, as all I wanted to do was stare at him.
