Big News

"Successful people make a decision and spend their time backing it up while others spend all their time just trying to make a decision."

I don't know exactly who said this, but it is totally relevant to my life right now.  I heard it while attend the Mike Colon and Bob Davis Master Your Craft seminar last month here in Charlotte.

I've never been one to take big risks in life.  I'd much rather play it safe and make wise, thought out decisions.  At the same time, my decision making process can be quite long and extremely tedious.

Exhibit A - while I was wedding planning I was out of my mind.  I had to know EVERY option that was available to me and had to create grids to compare potential vendors.  I would spend a ridiculous amount of time obsessing over the process of hiring the perfect vendor for our wedding.

Exhibit B - the worst thing ever is deciding what to order when we are out at a restaurant.  I'll get myself down to two options.  At that point, I'll either have the waiter decide for me or I'll ask Geoff what he thinks I should get.  I usually go with the opposite of what Geoff suggests.  He rolls his eyes at me every time.  :)

Since last April when I started Cheyenne Schultz Photography, my business has blown up.  So much that it has become incredibly difficult for me to balance my full-time job and my photography.  For the past few months I have been struggling with the decision to leave behind my master's degree in Higher Education Administration and my love of working with college students to plunge myself into my business exclusively.  Well, it was time for me to apply the quote above to my life.  I feel that everything is leading me to pursue photography full-time.  So, I've decided to leave the comfort of a salary paid job and to trust that God will take care of me.  I'm more than determined and ecstatic to be moving into this new direction and I can't wait to see what's to come!

I'll be at Davidson until mid-June.  Now, if I can just make it through the next couple of months!  Here's my schedule between now and then:

Friday - March 28: Maryann and Ed's Wedding in Edisto Beach, South Carolina
Saturday - March 29: Jesse and Brandon Engagement Session
Sunday - March 30: Baby McGinn Newborn Session

Saturday - April 5: Colleen and Alan's Wedding in Charlotte, North Carolina

So, as you can see, there is much more blogging to come!

Again, just to make sure I don't blog without at least one photo, here is a shot of me looking quite fabulous in Vegas.  Shannon Smith of 831 Photography snapped this shot of me with my Shootsac getting a ceiling shot in front of a hotel.
