Erika and Brad: Married - Centenary United Methodist Church

Oh boy - this is gonna be a long one! I mean a SERIOUSLY long post. Ridiculously long, in fact. Oh well, I guess I'm making up for not posting for five days!

Erika and Brad's wedding day was SO BEAUTIFUL and I enjoyed shooting every second of it. I'm a big sucker for details, so I was in heaven!

They were married in Winston-Salem at the Centenary United Methodist Church and the reception was held at Revolution Mill Studios in Greensboro. And let me tell you - both venues were AWESOME. Seriously.

My new favorite ring shot.

Brad!

lovin' this shot of erika as the final touches get put on her hair - so cute.

The flowers were done by Central Floral Gardens.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day to shoot is actually before the wedding even starts. I love shooting all of the "getting ready" details. It's like a fun challenge to come up with new and creative shots for the rings, accessories, dress, etc. I was VERY excited to find this pillow in the hotel room that conveniently was embroidered with "Sweet Dreams".

Gorgeous, right?!

The parasols added a very fun and cute touch.

:)

Aw yes...the infamous hot guy shot.

Ya'll...let me tell you something about this church....it was PHENOMENAL. Super dark inside (which made it tricky to shoot), but SO dramatic.

Enter Erika and Brad's hard work at all of the matching wedding details.

Geoff always gets the coolest shots - I love it that he sees things that I never would when we shoot.

We COULD NOT decide between one of the two next shots for the blog post. Dilemma fixed - post both.....

My shot:

Geoff's shot:

Married!!!

Erika and Brad's wedding was the first that we started experimenting with some new and fun lighting - was a great accent to their first dance!

Okay - how cool is their cake? VERY cool. But not even HALF as cool as the groom's cake below!

Are you serious? This is AWESOME. Everyone loved it.....especially when they cut the cake to the old school mario brothers song.

Both cakes were done by For Goodness Cakes (based out of Atlanta, GA).

Told you there was a ton of details!

We have many cool dance shots from this wedding, but THIS.....well, this is just about the coolest I've seen. Good catch, Geoff!

Congrats Erika and Brad!!!!! :)))) Your wedding was awesome!

Incredible shots by both of you guys! For the cake detail with the blur focus, is that a lensbaby or some photoshop blur action? Either way - neat effect!

Corinna - thanks so much! Erika did FABULOUS with all of the details - and yeah...the grooms cake? SO COOL.

Erika - girl, you are MOST welcome. It makes me so happy that you are so happy with them. And I appreciate the referrals! :)

Baby - great job to YOU!

Cathy - Erika SHOULD consider wedding planning full time, I know!

Shanika - Thanks! The church was SO amazing - I get to shoot there again next March! How are you? Any baby yet?! :)

Lisa - thanks! The details were, in fact, amazing!

Steph - thanks, girl!

Tracy - thanks for the encouragement! :)

Rolf - thanks, buddy! I WISH I could say I did it with a tilt shift lens, but can't - maybe someday we'll get one! But for now - photoshop is my friend. :) This was an action in set #2 of the Totally Rad Actions - it's called "f-zero" I think. :)
