Jessica and Steve: Album

I think I've mentioned on here before how much I love getting mail. Well, one of my FAVORITE things to get in the mail is a wedding album that we've ordered for a client. Because seriously - they are beautiful. I can barely contain my excitement when I see the return address from our album company - Finao. NO DOUBT the box is ripped open upon delivery.

One of the reasons I love Finao is because of the options. I really have fun playing "album stylist" when we have one of our client's over to proof their album and pick out their cover materials. Jessica and Steve chose to design their album to match their living room - they went with the "Mimosa" fabric cover and the "Havana" leather as an accent. And seriously? I'm obsessed with it.

New Stuff: Canvas Wraps

Check em' out - canvas wraps! And let me tell you - they are BEAUTIFUL.

This is Lori's canvas wrap that she got to showcase her beautiful bridal portrait at her wedding reception. She ordered the standard wrap, which is a 3/4 inch frame and can either be hung directly on the wall as is or dropped in a standard frame.

For those photographers who are reading this and interested where these come from - we get our wraps from the awesome Pixel 2 Canvas....their work is truly beautiful!

New Stuff: Coffee Table Guestbooks!

Sorry for all of the "new stuff" posts lately, but there's a lot of new stuff to show off! So here you go - the coffee table guestbook.

I love this product, as it's an old school idea with a new school style. Our guestbooks replace those you've seen at weddings that allow guests to sign their name on the dotted line to show that they were there. I like this option SO much better as it allows your friends and families to leave you a note of well wishes. Geoff and I opted for a guestbook such as this for our wedding a little over a year ago - we keep it on our bookshelves in our living room and get it out every now and then to read the notes.

It also makes great use of all of those fun engagement pictures you've taken. Rather than maybe framing one or two and then having to leave the others on a computer or in a box, why not showcase a bunch of your favorites?

David and Lara chose to have one made for their wedding day this past Saturday - it was a big hit!

As mentioned before, Geoff does all of our album design (how convenient that I married a guy who went to art school!). For the design of David and Lara's book, he took a few of their favorite quotes and even incorporated the graphics from their wedding invitation to really personalize it.

As you can see, plenty of negative space is left on each spread to allow for guests to write.

If you are interested in getting a guestbook of your own for your wedding, give me a shout! :)

New Stuff: Albums!

Back in March I traveled all the way to Las Vegas to attend the WPPI Convention and Tradeshow. My biggest reason for going was so I could choose which album company I wanted to partner with to offer my clients. Before attending I had researched many many options, but never could decide because I couldn't really tell what they were like. To be able to see and feel my options in person was invaluable to me, as I knew I would make the most informed decision possible.

My album company - Finao (stands for "failure is not an option" - which I love) - is awesome. When looking for a company I wanted one that was "outside of the box" and could match our style of photography. I wanted high quality, modern, and fun. Finao is just that and I couldn't be more pleased.

Waiting to get my sample albums in the mail after we designed them and sent them in was like torture. When they arrived, it felt like Christmas morning when I was 8 years old and received my little miss makeup doll. I was CRAZY excited and couldn't stop obsessing over them.

Without further ado - here they are! All of the albums we offer feature........

Nice, thick pages.

Top quality printing directly onto the page - seriously, the printing is out of this world beautiful. Each album is custom designed by the fabulous, talented, and cute Geoff Schultz!

Modern style square page corners.

Square spine for a clean look.

Part of the reason I love this company is because of all of the customizable options that are offered. I really want my clients to have an album that is a reflection of their own personal style, whether that be a crazy fun feel or a more traditional finish. Check out all of the options - match your album to your wedding colors or to your living room! The choice is yours. :)

Our standard album features one or two tone fabrics and materials with the names of the couple imprinted on the front. For our sample we went with a "biker chic" and "ipanema" combo.

I'm a big fan of the photo covers - this one is called "Armour", which is a printed metal cover that is FIERCE! The album back can be covered with any of the above materials from the swatches. We went with the fun material called " femme noir" that is shown below.

My favorite is the acrylic cover - seriously, it is sooooo awesome. The cover image is coated to the back of this piece of plexi-glass...it is PRETTY. For this sample we went with the "miami ink" backing.

So there you go - we're definitely thrilled for this next step in our business! :)

New Stuff: Media Cases!

I'm sorry, but how hot are our new DVD/CD cases?! From now on, all of our clients who purchase high resolution files from their sessions or wedding days will be receiving them in the cases below.

Up until now we were using a very nice product, but it was too traditional for our taste - we decided these are much more our style. A contemporary, fun, clean look - while showcasing the uniqueness of our awesome clients. Yup - Love em'! :)

Happy Monday, everyone!
