Kate and Jason: Engaged

We couldn't have asked for a nicer day to shoot Kate and Jason's engagement session. Considering we had SNOW on Monday and then it was 75 degrees by Friday - it was pretty great.

We hadn't shot an engagement session since January, so I was REALLY excited. And actually, even a little nervous!

Usually we start a session really low key - but for this one, I couldn't resist taking advantage of the numbered garage doors right away. Jason and Kate are getting married on.......

Pretty clever, aren't we? :)))

These two just make me smile.

Supa hot!

I'm pretty sure that this is one of my favorites from the session - I love everything about it. This one's going to have to go on the website. For sure.

And here's Geoff's view.

The four of us were actually back in the car ready to go to a new spot when I noticed a bunch of white frame things (they probably had something to do with parking), when I asked if everyone would mind sticking around for a couple more minutes to play a bit. And I'm glad we did.

Clearly this one has some different processing than our usual, but I think it fits the shot.

Also a favorite from this session.

And as luck would have it, we got a train as we were walking back to the car to call it a day.

Can't wait for your wedding day, Kate and Jason - we'll see you soon! :)

Kate and Jason: Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek from Jason and Kate's engagement session yesterday evening. Typically, I dig on symmetry like is in the first shot. However, I was feelin' a little daring this morning while waiting for our cinnamon rolls to get out of the oven...so I thought, 'what the hay'....and did some cropping. And, as it turns out, I think I'm diggin' on the cropped version more. What about you? Which do you prefer?

Lauren: Boudoir

You should have SEEN the number of shoes this girl brought along for her boudoir shoot - you seriously wouldn't believe it. Lauren's personal style is something that I envy. Sometimes I think, "ONLY Lauren could pull off an outfit like that", but then I realize, anyone with a little confidence can pull off whatever they want. I swear though, the next time I go shopping, I'm taking her with me.

P.S. All pics posted here by permission of client.

In addition to her boudoir pics, a lil' bit of fashion.....just for fun.

Jazzed. For real.

Can I just say how JAZZED I am?

A little getaway to Savannah for the weekend was just what we needed. The weather was beyond perfect - perfect enough to sit on River Street with a book and a slushie. it was quite a shock to come back to Charlotte to snow!

Before heading back home on Saturday evening, Geoff and I spent a few hours at our favorite coffee house - Gallery Espresso. We finally took out some time to ask ourselves some big questions about our business, as well as begin to detail out our plans for it's future. Doing this made us realize it's importance and decided we need to be in reflection of where we are and where we are going far more often.

One of those plans....is to fully rebrand ourselves in a way that is more in line with our style of shooting, our personalities, etc. Here's a shot from inside Gallery that may drive our new brand that will launch next fall.

Also, be sure to go on over to the SJB Blog - we were featured on it at the end of last week! Thanks, Shanika!
