Really, if you are planning a wedding in Charlotte, you should bookmark the site on your computer. It's updated quite frequently as is really helpful to get reviews about different CLT vendors. I wish I would have had it as a resource when I got married!

Erika and Brad: Married - Centenary United Methodist Church

Oh boy - this is gonna be a long one! I mean a SERIOUSLY long post. Ridiculously long, in fact. Oh well, I guess I'm making up for not posting for five days!

Erika and Brad's wedding day was SO BEAUTIFUL and I enjoyed shooting every second of it. I'm a big sucker for details, so I was in heaven!

They were married in Winston-Salem at the Centenary United Methodist Church and the reception was held at Revolution Mill Studios in Greensboro. And let me tell you - both venues were AWESOME. Seriously.

The flowers were done by Central Floral Gardens.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day to shoot is actually before the wedding even starts. I love shooting all of the "getting ready" details. It's like a fun challenge to come up with new and creative shots for the rings, accessories, dress, etc. I was VERY excited to find this pillow in the hotel room that conveniently was embroidered with "Sweet Dreams".

Ya'll...let me tell you something about this church....it was PHENOMENAL. Super dark inside (which made it tricky to shoot), but SO dramatic.

Geoff always gets the coolest shots - I love it that he sees things that I never would when we shoot.

Married!!!

Erika and Brad's wedding was the first that we started experimenting with some new and fun lighting - was a great accent to their first dance!

Okay - how cool is their cake? VERY cool. But not even HALF as cool as the groom's cake below!

Are you serious? This is AWESOME. Everyone loved it.....especially when they cut the cake to the old school mario brothers song.

Both cakes were done by For Goodness Cakes (based out of Atlanta, GA).

Told you there was a ton of details!

We have many cool dance shots from this wedding, but THIS.....well, this is just about the coolest I've seen. Good catch, Geoff!

Explanation + Sneak Peek

First of all, I have to acknowledge my blog post from yesterday and say that it absolutely cracked me up to rickroll my blog readers. For those of you who had never been rickrolled before, here is what wikipedia has to say about it - so when it happens to you again, you'll know what's up:

Rickrolling is an Internet meme involving the music video for the 1987 Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up". The meme is a bait and switch: a person provides a Web link they claim is relevant to the topic at hand, but the link actually takes the user to the Astley video. The URL can be masked or obfuscated in some manner so that the user cannot determine the true source of the link without clicking (and thus satisfying their curiosity). When a person clicks on the link given and is led to the web page he/she is said to have been "Rickrolled". By extension, it can also mean playing the song loudly in public in order to be disruptive.

So anyway, thanks for letting me have some random fun to amuse myself. :)

Secondly, we just got home from an awesome engagement shoot with Laura and Joe. As soon as Geoff and I got home, we uploaded the images and started going through them. I was so happy with them, I couldn't stand waiting to post a few (more to come next week). Enjoy!

Crazy Fancy - for CLT Brides

A fellow Charlotte photographer and friend of mine - Jeremy Igo - has started a cool new site for Charlotte brides....Crazy Fancy. As an online community for local brides, as well as a resource to vendor profiles in our city, the site is sure to be valuable for those planning their weddings.

Here's the description from the "About" section to give you an idea of what it's all about:

Crazy Fancy is a social network created exclusively for Brides of the Carolinas. Unlike large national websites, Crazy Fancy is owned and contributed to by professionals in the Carolinas. We know the ins and outs of the local wedding scene, and are here to help you out!

Our purpose is to give these brides a place to gather and share ideas about their wedding day. From venues to wedding dresses, Carolina brides need a place to discuss all of their ideas and options.

Anna and Tim: Sneak Peek

The intent really is to blog about a wedding right after the wedding has happened - I just can't ever seem to get caught up enough to do this! So, for now, here's a little peek at a few shots from Anna and Tim's wedding this past Saturday.
