Ellen - in her bandana that she recently grew into. She really wasn't a fan of it, but because she looked so dang cute, we had to take some shots.
She'll be 5 months old on September 5th!

A couple of weekends ago I went down with my Lifegroup for my first ever trip to Charleston, South Carolina. It was a short trip, but it was great to see a bit of Charleston and spend time with the girls. And oh my gosh, was it HOT and HUMID. Sick. It was so gross.
Here are some of my favorites from the trip.

These seven make up the new and fabulous, up and coming improv group here in Charlotte. They call themselves Shahrazad. I myself can't yet pronounce their name quite yet, but I'm working on it!
Seriously, these people together are hysterical. Geoff and I went to their show in NODA at Wine Up last week. Usually, improv isn't my thing....but these guys had me cracking up the whole time.
Not only are they funny, but they have a purpose in their work. As noted on their myspace page, their goal is to "entertain the charlotte community with the art of improvisational acting/comedy, and in the process, use the money we earn to help those in need--locally and around the world. We have fun doing improv, you have fun watching--and WE WANT YOUR MONEY TO AFFECT AND EVEN SAVE LIVES." Cool!
Somehow we all survived the blistering heat last Monday evening to get these fun shots. If you want to see more, check them out here. Enjoy the pics and expect to hear more from Shahrazad...they're going to rock Charlotte!

Two weeks ago we spent the weekend with good friends at the Beach in Oak Island, NC. It was my first trip to a North Carolina beach and it was Ellen's FIRST EVER beach trip. She was NOT fond of the beach, nor of the ocean.
It was really nice to get away, although I wish it could have been for longer. Special thanks to Mandy and her parents for shacking us up in their beach house for the weekend!
This is how much she liked the beach:
